Wenoka Putnal James
Wenoka "Tim" Putnal James, 76, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Feb. 17, 2008, after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Carrabelle and moved to Tallahassee in 1995. She retired from Carrabelle High School after 30 years of teaching, and influencing the lives of many children. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrabelle and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Franklin James; a son, Mark James (and his wife Alice); a daughter, Melinda James Doyle (and her husband Ron); eight grandchildren, Jennifer James Nixon, Jason James, Mary James Jones (and her husband Derrick), Laura James, Whitney James, Ashley Doyle Pooser (and her husband Jacob), Garrett Doyle and Adam Doyle, all of Tallahassee; six great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Shakayla, and Shantis Nixon, Kaylie and Ivy Jones, and Caleb Pooser; one brother, Wesley "Buz" Putnal (and his wife Genevieve) of Carrabelle; and many other beloved nieces and nephews, and other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Brandon. Services were held at First Baptist Church of Carrabelle with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
