Your words are poetry. They brought me out of some very dark times and inspired me to be the best I could be. I am forever grateful for that & your talent in drumming was unsurpassed. I could never thank you enough. Prayers and love to your family, Geddy, Alex and all of your close friends. You made history and made the world a better place for it..

Thank you, Neil, for being such an inspiration to me on so many levels. From the moment I first saw you on April 3rd, 1979, you left an imprint on my life that stays with me to this day. I was beyond fortunate to have witnessed your mastery behind the drums many times over the years. Your lyrics widened both my surroundings and perspective. I will forever be in your debt for giving me the inspiration, courage, and insight to find meaning through the world of music. Thank you for the music, the memories, and the gift of finding genuine sense in this world. Godspeed, Neil. Forever fan.

There are no words to reflect the loss I feel. RUSH brought me serenity when i was away from home in the Navy. Blessed to see them live 6+ times without let down. The last time was in Indianapolis with my then 14 yo daughter for her birthday. We still do the air drumming to Limelight. The one verse that has stuck with throughout the years (and enhanced through our loss) is: "Though Its Just A Memory, Some Memories Last Forever". My thoughts and Prayers to the family as well as Alex and Geddy. Rest in peace Neil.

My condolences to the Peart family, Geddy and Alex. Thank you, Neil, for your incredible lyrics, which compelled me to think, question, imagine and explore. Thank you also for out shining all others on the drum kit; you made myself and everyone else that ever picked up a pair of drum sticks want to copy you.
You taught us all so much that's why they called you the Professor!!!

10 short years ago, I discovered Rush through my grandfather at the age of 4. I'll never forget walking into my grandparents' living room and hiding behind my grandpa's chair just to hear Distant Early Warning for that very first time. I've been hooked ever since... Now I am learning to play music and write lyrics, I owe it all to you, Neil. I know that I have already posted in this Guest Book, but I felt the need to say a few more things, not only out of grief, but out of gratitude and respect. You wrote the soundtrack to the last 10 years of my 14 year old life and I know there is more to come. I know that you were very shy and didn't really like to be approached by fans, but this is the only way I know to kind of make me feel a little better. I really hope you knew how much this world loved you Neil, and how much we always will. I hope those golden roads are fun for you to be riding down. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Neil. It feels good to know that you are no longer in pain, I hate cancer. On behalf of my family and friends, thank you and rest in peace Professor.

Neil,
To me you were The Professor, a hero, an inspiration... But more importantly, you were Neil Peart. Your work helped me through the good and the bad. Even through my own loss, and now, it helps me through the loss of its creator. Though I never saw nor met you, I still miss you and I always will. I don't know if I'm saying the right words or that I could ever do you justice, but I hope you know how much we all loved you. Even though I am only 14 years old, I will never forget what you have done for my life. This is just so much for me to take in, even over a month later. Thank you Neil, may you Rest in Peace...

In the event that any of the Peart family read this, my condolences go out to all of you. I don't know any other way to say this than to tell you that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you...

Thank you Neil,
Nathan Stevens
