Mary Hurley obit
Mary Elizabeth King Hurley died Oct. 23, 2007. She had lived in Tallahassee since 1961 and Alligator Point since 1975. She was an Episcopalian and a member of the Church of the Ascension in Lanark Village and Holy Comforter in Tallahassee. She helped start the Alligator Point Tax Payer Association and the Alligator Point Volunteer Fire Department. She also volunteered for the turtle patrol in Alligator Point to help protect our sea turtles.
Survivors include three children: John N. Hurley (Debbie) of Tallahassee; Judith H. Hamilton of Barrington, Rhode Island; and Michael E. Hurley of Lake Wales; and three grandchildren, Matthew E. Hurley (Deanna) of Brandon; Sean Hamilton of Warren, Rhode Island; and Kristen Hamilton of Providence, Rhode Island.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Edward J. Hurley in 1999.
Services were held Oct. 27, 2007 at Church of the Ascension Lanark Village with burial at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
