Edward Wesley Branch, Jr., was born in Eastpoint on Dec. 12, 1946. He passed away on March 5, 2008 at the age of 61, at his home in Apalachicola.
He was affectionately known and loved. He was employed by the city of Apalachicola for 17 years and also worked as a commercial fisherman. In 2003, the Florida Seafood Festival honored him as its King Retyso.
Branch was a member of the Army RA Inf., and a member of Masonic Lodge 76 in Apalachicola.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Scott of Apalachicola. He loved to flounder and tell jokes.
Edward and Joann were married Nov. 1, 1982 and shared 25 wonderful years together. He leaves cherished memories to his wife, Joann Branch, of Apalachicola; his children, daughters Wendy Desrosier, of Mobile, AL, and Karen Sanders and Amber Branch, of Eastpoint; a son, Stephen Branch, of Eastpoint; a sister, Mary Williams, of Apalachicola; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Era Segree Lipford, mother Etta Mae Segree Branch, father Edward Wesley Branch Sr., and two brothers, Stephen Wayne Branch and Franklin Craig Branch, all of Eastpoint.
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 10.
