Van Buren Waulk Jr obit
Van Buren Waulk, Jr, was born July 14, 1934, in Grayson, Kentucky to the late Maude Hale Waulk and Van Buren Waulk, Sr. He died October 16, 2007 at the age of 73 at Eden Springs in Medart, Florida.
Van moved to Lanark Village in 1992 from Lake City, Florida. Van was an accomplished song-writer and recording artist; he published many short stories in the Kentucky Explorer as well as other publications; was an ordained minister, Chef, a Master of Comedy, and a United States Army veteran. He has published many short stories under the name Van B. Webster Waulk under his company Bachelor House Publishing.
He is survived by his children; Laura Lee Wood of Columbus, OH, Shirley Jean Estep of Columbus, OH, William James Atwood of Point Pleasant, WV, Kevin Eugene Waulk of Chillicothe, OH, Dale Eric Waulk and wife Terre of Mt. Sterling, OH, and Brian Keith Waulk of Chillicothe,OH; brother, Jack Nelson Waulk of Chillicothe, OH; sisters, Blanche Marie Cox of Lanark Village, FL, Ethel Maude Posey of Chillicothe, OH; and Mary Lou Patmore of Marianna, FL; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members; and his two beloved cats, "Skeeter Britches" and "Little Britches." Predeacesed by his brother, James Claude Waulk.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Assembly of God with memorialization by cremation. Reverend Ron Barks officated.
A memorial service is being planned for the Spring of 2008 in Ohio. After, the memorial service in Ohio, Van's ashes will be scattered in his homeplace of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Please contact Mary Lou Patmore, 850-899-8601, for details regarding the memorial service.
